IQRAA FOUNDATION is a UK-based non-profit charitable organization dedicated to serving both Ethiopian and non-Ethiopian Muslims. Urgent Appeal for Support to Secure a Permanent Mosque for the Ethiopian Muslim Community in London

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Iqraa Foundation is a registered Islamic charity in the UK (Charity No. 1175335). Since October 2017, our centre, Iqraa Ethiopian Community Centre, has been serving the diverse Muslim population in our area. This space, originally a converted church, has become a vital hub for daily prayers, Qur'anic teachings, Islamic studies, and community gatherings for both adults and youth.

Currently, our centre is on a seven-year lease, which is now coming to an end. The landlord has decided to sell the property for £650,000 within a month, putting our community at risk of losing this essential space. Without intervention, there is a real possibility that the property could be repurposed into a church, pub, or other non-Islamic establishment. This would not only disrupt our religious activities but also weaken the unity and support system we have built over the years.

Alhamdulillah, we have already raised £300,000, but we urgently need to secure the remaining £350,000 to purchase the property and establish a permanent mosque for our community.
